Business Should Seek Out Technology Resources
Now as Market Tightens Up

(Las Vegas) – National and local technology companies alike have been snatching up qualified technology consultants to meet a growing demand by businesses seeking to hire them for a vast array of projects.

Most recently, IBM announced it has upped its hiring forecast for the year to 18,800 new hires, most of whom will work for the corporation’s consulting division. Previously, IBM reported it expected to hire 10,000 people in 2004. The corporation giant said the reason for the approximate 80 percent increase is tremendous demand for consultants as businesses again fund technology projects.

On a smaller scale, Southern Nevada-based IT Strategies International has also seen a surge in requests for consultants for all kinds of businesses, including in the areas of utilities, government, health care and gaming. IT Strategies has always maintained a diverse consultant base by employing a fulltime technical recruiter. As Michael Marriot, executive vice president of IT Strategies, explains, “We have continually enhanced our consultant database from 2002 to 2004. We are ready for this expansion, which we anticipated.”

He added, “Companies need to consider obtaining good resources now and become acquainted with consulting firms because the labor pool is starting to tighten up. It’s a good idea for businesses to develop a relationship now with a computer consulting firm in order to lock in experienced consultants at an affordable price.”

Marriot said the last time the technology labor pool shrunk like this was when the dot-com boom hit. As an expert in the industry, Marriott anticipates even more growth in the future in regards to businesses turning to consultants. And when demand rises, so too do consultant rates.

“There has been a steady growth over the last several months in the technology industry which shows that this trend is not going away anytime soon,” he said. “It appears that consultants are the wave of the future when it comes to tackling many technology projects and business goals. Businesses need to contact us now to lock in good rates.
